Thoughts on Bluesky
Let me start by saying that social media used to be an integral part of my life. I’ve made lots of friends and learned so much from talented creators on these platforms, especially Twitter.
Twitter used to be a safe space for my thoughts. But after the recent changes, it no longer felt like a place for real, genuine conversations.
I tried Mastodon, but I just couldn’t get into it. I’m not sure why, but it didn’t feel very user-friendly to me. However, once I got an invite to Bluesky, I immediately felt a connection with other users.
The discovery tab works really well, I love seeing creators share their work. I don’t exactly follow a lot of people yet, but I am happy with what I am seeing from Bluesky so far.
I wish there was a native iPad client, and while there are third party apps, none have grabbed my interest the way Tweetbot did for Twitter.
Ultimately, Bluesky is the best social media platform to be on right now and I hope it continues to succeed.
